Indulgence
Originally, this was to be called Plaything, but I prefer Indulgence. I'm about 15-20,000 words in. I haven't got drive I had whilst writing Absolution.
This sequel, Indulgence is a little more 'Hollywood' than Absolution, less complex and lighter reading.
Twenty years on from Absolution. The Goldstones are all respectable. Alex runs his private law firm. Claire is an appeal court Judge about to be appointed to the European court. On the other side of the Atlantic, Georgia Goldstone (Senior) is also a Judge. Both judges are receiving growing political support for their views on the limited legalisation of cannabis.
A young law student Lewis West (son of the deceased Adele West), foils an armed escape attempt by prisoners during their appeal hearing. The fun and games start when Lewis meets Georgia Goldstone (Junior) at university. Claire and Daniella work out that Lewis' father is Alex, the youngsters must be stopped before things start to progress.
Things start to get complicated, when a forward thinking extremist group funded by drug cartels, plan to secure their future finances by eliminating both judges, Alex' wife and Morgan's sister.
The Goldstones would have to revert their old gangster ways in order to protect their own, but now there was the both old skool and the new. It appears that the extremists and the US government have their hands full.
I realise of course, unless you've read Absolution, this makes no sense.
